How much will my alterations be?
In general, alterations work out between £100 and £300 for most brides, but we've included a basic price list so you can get an idea of likely costs. We always check you are happy with our suggestions before going ahead with any work, and will always discuss the options with you.
We ask for 50% at first fitting with the balance due at your final fitting. We accept payment by card, bank transfer or cash.
How soon do I need to book in?
We recommend that as soon as you know you want to enlist our services you get yourself booked in.
Ideally we would begin alterations 8 to 12 weeks before your wedding, but the sooner we can get you booked in the better. This allows us to plan our workload and ensure you get the best service possible.
How many fittings do I need?
On average we suggest you will need 3 or 4 fittings to get the perfect fit; sometimes less, sometimes more depending on the work required.
We do things in stages. We don't like to rush and sometimes we need to check one part before we can do the next.
We don't finish hems and don't cut off excess fabric until the very last minute... and never finish anything without your agreement.
When will my dress be ready?
We usually time your final fitting for 2 weeks before your wedding.
Once you are happy with everything we will then check and press everything ready for collection one or 2 days before your wedding.
Let us know if you have a preferred timescale or wish to pick up sooner.
How do I book in?
The best way to get in touch is to call or email:
01254 899812
Please don't message through Instagram as your message is likely to get buried and lost.
We are open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please remember to bring your shoes and underwear with you to each and every fitting. Failing to do so may result in extra fittings.
You are welcome to bring any accessories with you to try out during your appointment. We also have collections of accessories available for you to try.
What if I plan to lose weight?
We ask that you try and stay the same weight once we have started working on your gown. It's really difficult to fit a dress to a moving target. In some cases there may be additional charges for repeated work.
If you are planning to lose weight please let us know so we can work out the best alteration timescale with you.
What if I want to make significant changes?
Great! Let us know your ideas when you get in touch to book your first appointment and we'll be able to let you know how soon you should book in.
What if my wedding is really close?
Still get in touch. We may be able to help. Our team is really skilled and grows during the summer months, so even if it feels last minute we may still be able to help.
Shorter timescales do require a bit more flexibility with appointments so if you can do midweek appointments there's a good chance we can fit you in.
How long is an appointment?
Alteration appointments are generally 30 minutes. We are happy to alter bridesmaid dresses and mother of the bride outfits too. Please let us know when booking the appointment if you’d like to book additional fittings so that we can add time to you appointment.
Initial consultations for significant changes are usually given an hour
We are also happy to help you choose accessories. Please do let us know if you are looking for accessories to complete your outfit and we will be happy to extend your appointment to give you the time and space to try out your look.
